Mary Ann Lunt Teaching Certificate, 1881-02-21
Scope and Content
The Henry H. Lunt Collection contains family correspondence, some family photographs, and a large collection of early black and white photographs of Zion National Park and the surrounding area.
These photographs were taken in 1916 when Henry W. Lunt accompanied Douglas White of the Union Pacific Salt Lake Route; W. D. Beers, Utah State Engineer; C. H. Kendall, highway commissioner for the National Forest District No. 4; and others to investigate routes for roads into Little Zion Canyon, which was then Mukuntuweap National Monument, and in1917 when Henry W. Lunt and Douglas White accompanied Horace M. Albright, acting director of the National Park Service, to see Zion. The name was changed to Zion National Monument in 1918 and Zion National Park was established November 19, 1919.
