Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Lillian Higbee Macfarlane Collection consists of a family records collected by Mrs. Macfarlane and donated by her daughter, Mary Macfarlane MacDonald. Notable among the correspondents in the collection of family letters is John Menzies Macfarlane, prominent 19th century Cedar City and St. George choir director, composer, and surveyor.

This collection also consists of photographs and negatives relating to Lillian's family and life in Iron and Washington Counties. Additionally documents and ledgers in the collection relate to the Nauvoo Legion, the Cedar City Light and Power Company, family accounts and the Bank of Southern Utah.
