Biographical Information
Albert N. Tollestrup taught music at Branch Normal School. In 1904 he was appointed head of the BNS music department. He was instrumental in promoting music as an academic discipline and was involved in purchasing the Chickering concert grand piano. Tollestrup also introduced oratorio and opera to the BNS curriculum.

Accession Information
Items in this collection were donated by Esther Perry prior to 1997. Photocopies of the originall photographs and the negatives were taken from the originals. The originals were returned to her at an unknown date.
