Biographical Information
Janet Burton Seegmiller was raised in Salt Lake City, eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1965. In 1968 she married Cedar City native Keith Seegmiller. After the family moved to Cedar City in 1985, Janet started working at then Southern Utah State College's Library. She continued working there until her retirement as Southern Utah University's Special Collections Librarian in 2014.
During her career she had published works including a book on the history of Iron County entitled "A History of Iron County: Community Above Self", several family histories and professional articles. Additionally, she has be involved in several local, historic and professional associations. As of 2020, she and Keith have served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
