Scope and Contents
The Kathleen Truman Collection contains research, reports, and Truman's personal notes obtained during her research about GSENM. Promotional materials and media for GSENM and other Southern Utah public lands are included. Background information and oral histories of Southern Utah's people are also featured in this collection.

Biographical / Historical
Kathleen Truman, anthropologist and historian. Has worked in environmental studies department at University of Nevada at Las Vegas and for the state of Utah. Ms. Truman was part of a 'planning team' that was put together to draft a management plan for the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument just after it was designated. She was the historian of the project.
