Historical Information
The first graduation of the Branch Normal School occurred in 1900, with ten graduates. As the Branch Normal School became the Branch Agricultural College (1913-1953), followed by College of Southern Utah (1953-1969), the graduation ceremony changed from a small ceremony in the main Assembly Hall of Old Main, to a full procession across campus to which was held in the newly completed Auditorium.
The College of Southern Utah became the Southern Utah State College (1969-1991) and finally Southern Utah University (1991-Current). As this change occurred, so did the number of students graduates. As of 2024, the number of graduating students was 3,047.
