Scope and Contents
This Jeanne O. Bethers Collection contains personal papers, photographs, correspondence and writings of Jeanne O. Bethers. The majority of items are news clippings from the Deseret News, or typed articles written by Bethers in her role as a correspondent to the Deseret News in Salt Lake City and the photographs which accompanied the articles. Some photographs were taken by Bethers herself.
Other items in the collection include subject files relating to Bether's articles. These topics cover all aspects of life and special events and disasters that occurred in Cedar City, Utah.
Other materials in the collection are Deseret News Style Handbooks, articles and music written by or performed by local residents and magazine clippings.
Personal items in the collection relate to Bether's school assignments and diaries from 1945-1955, maps and brochures from travels, and documents showing Bether's interactions with local organizations and committees.
