Three years ago, Sierra Pacific Power Company announced plans to construct an electric transmission line across central Nevada that would link power sources in Utah with those in Nevada and California. This facility, a 230 kilovolt line, would, in essence, close the hole in the 'power doughnut, and existing network of electrical power transmission facilities that completely encircle central Nevada.
