General
Range Air Surveillance System (RASS) SEA, Inc. Engineers are providing services to NAS-Fallon for Range Air Surveillance System (RASS) auxiliary facilities, comprising relocation of approximately 1200 feet of overhead poleline to serve RASS 3 near Vigus Butte just northwest of Austin, and near Gabbs, construction of a power substation to serve RASS 2, upgrading of the substation access road, and an increased construction area at RASS 2 to allow for possible graded material falling to the foot of steep mountain slopes. Surface and subsurface disturbance by blading equipment, pole installation equipment, and light and heavy trucks constitute potential impacts.
