The Rhoda Matheson Wood Collection contains the writings, remembrances, and thoughts about Southern Utah, Cedar City, and the University that Rhoda wrote during her lifetime.

Biographical Information
Rhoda Matheson Wood was born in Parowan, Utah in December of 1889. She was educated in the Parowan and Cedar City Schools and also attend the Branch Normal School. She married William Henry Wood October 12, 1912. Being an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gave Rhoda many opportunities to work with the youth. She and Mr. Wood served in the Western States Mission from 1959-1963. For many years Rhoda served as historian for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Iron Mission Camp, also serving as captain in the Camp several times. Mrs. Wood was active in music and wrote numerous histories of Iron County and Southern Utah.
